The history of Rome is so rich. Children who lived in Ancient Rome were taught the story of Romulus. The story goes that there were a set of twin brothers, Romulus and Remus. They were abondened by their parents then placed in a basket which would be placed in the River Tiber. A mother wolf found them and took care of the twins until a sheperard found them.
When the boys grew older they decided to found a city where the wolf found them. They argued about where it would be and what it would be names so Romulus killed Remus. He named the new city Rome after himself in 753 BC. Rome grew and expanded over time becoming a city filled with discovery and a minds set on filling them with knowledge. Rome had a strong army, considered one of the best for their time. The Roman army had develpoed a specific type of fighting technique which required a strict training regimine. Romans are creditied for the discovery of democracy. Romans loved social activities and entertainment. They had many leisure activities like public baths for discussion and chariot racing to cheer on the gladiators. Rome thrived until 476 AD. Many things contributed to the fall of Rome like Christianity, the capitol moving cities, and the split of the Western and Eastern Empire.
